3 Day Cleanse
Updated: Apr 9, 2019
I completed a 3 day juice and water cleanse, and I felt great afterwards. Continue reading to find out how it worked for me.
Have you ever felt like you have consumed too much starch, sugar, and carbs and didn't know what to do to rid yourself of all of the toxins? Are you recovering from an illness or injury and want to heal fast and need the proper nutrients? If so, I have found a great solution that you should try. It is a 3 day juice cleanse from a company named "Squeezed". I'm sure by the name "Squeezed" that you automatically know that there will be no solid foods involved within this 3 day cleanse. Wow! I know it seems intimidating to hear if you've never shocked your body in this form. Honestly, I felt the same way when my husband asked me to join in on the cleanse with him. At first I thought, "You're on your own, babe," but I knew that not only would this help with my digestive system, it would also cleanse my body of the garbage that I consumed in March. I'm always up for a challenge, so I told my husband I would take him up on that offer.
We placed the order on a Friday and we received the meals the following Sunday. There is also an overnight shipping option if you decide that you want the items sooner. The juices arrived on our door step in a black insulated bag to make sure that the drinks remained cool during the delivery process. A 3 day cleanse consist of 5 drinks for each day, that has the option to add a 6th drink considered, a "snack"."Snack" juices can be used as a replacement to help with fulfillment. All of the drinks are 16FL. oz. and have to be kept in a refrigerated area until time for consumption. Squeezed recommends drinking a bottle of water after each meal to help with digestion and hydration. This amount of fluid consumption leads to will cause you to frequently use the restroom, so make sure you stay close to a restroom.
Disclaimer: If you are one who isn't very fond of certain vegetables, fruits, and ingredients blended together that will create am acquired taste, then this cleanse may not be for you. Let's toss the beginner acquired taste to the side and shift our focus on all of the benefits you'll receive from the nutrients and the cleanse. The juices are made to rejuvenate you, provide you with more energy, and aid you in the direction to start making better food choices. Certain vegetables, fruits, and ingredients include: carrots, beets, romaine, spinach, pineapples, apples, grape, orange, lemon, ginger, chard, parsley, and agave. You can check out the list of drinks for more ingredient details. Squeezed bottles are labeled with the title, the ingredients the drink has, and a number and letter to indicate the day you are currently on and the bottle number you are drinking. The letter and number are printed to help assure that you stay on track with the correct meals for that particular day.
Now I know you are thinking, "What did the 3 day cleanse do for you?" You can probably guess that I did the one thing that so many of us do when it comes to our body, which is to step up on the scale. I noticed the decrease in weight within 24 hours. Initially I started out at 142.2lbs. and weighed 136.6lbs by the second day. My first thought was, "Dang, I must have been storing a lot of unnecessary weight from eating poorly." If you know me personally you are probably thinking, "You don't have any weight to lose." However, I was pretty happy to rid the weight, because I felt lighter and had a flatter stomach. My stomach had disappeared so much that I almost started to go look for it. Ha-ha!
After day 1 of the cleanse I felt lighter and more energized to take on my normal leg day routine, but during the first exercise I knew that the workout was going to be more difficult than usual. I know you're probably thinking, "Why was the workout difficult if you were feeling as good as you stated?" If you have been following my social media account(s) for a while you'd know that I like to lift heavy 3 days a week. Most heavy lifters know that in order to be able to complete a workout of such strenuous movements, your body needs the proper amount of carbs, nutrients, and rest. Hence that since I wasn't consuming healthy solid foods, I didn't have the adequate amount of nutrients to make it through my workout. Instead of 4 exercises 6 sets of 8 reps, I ended the day with 3 exercises of each being 4 sets of 8 reps. Your girl was really bummed about that, but in turn received it as a lesson learned. The lack of consuming full solid meals can cause heavy lifting to be difficult, so it would be best to do a light to moderate weight workout during the cleanse.
On the final day I noticed something that seemed oddly strange to me, and maybe because it was my first time doing a cleanse and I didn't know how my body would respond to it. I realized that I gained 1.2lbs., but I am sure that it accumulated from the H20 that I had been consuming as well. When I got on the scale the 3rd night before bed, I weighed 137.6lbs. It's safe to say that throughout the process I lost approximately 6lbs. and gained 1.2lbs. back on the last day.
Needless to say, I loved the results, and I have decided to make the 3 day cleanse a monthly thing. If you would like to try the cleanse for the first time it is suggested that you start out with the 3 day "Squeezed" version.
